Everton and Leicester City are thought to be keen on signing the Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha.
Apparently, the midfielder is valued at €30 million and Italian club Napoli are keeping tabs on the player as well.
SL View: Could be a good squad player for either side
The 25 year old defensive midfielder could be a useful addition for both Premier League clubs but he might struggle to hold down a regular starting berth.
Everton have Allan as the first choice defensive midfielder and the Foxes have Wilfred Ndidi sweeping up in front of their back four.
Palhinha can play as a centre back as well and he could be a versatile addition for both teams.
Leicester and Everton could definitely use some depth in the midfield and defence and the Sporting Lisbon star could be a useful option.
However, the €30 million asking price will have to be reduced in order for the transfer to make sense.
It is highly unlikely that the likes of Everton and Leicester will agree to pay that kind of price for a player who might not be a key starter for them next season.
