Manchester United fans react to Paul Pogba’s Euro 2020 display for France

A selection of Manchester United fans reacted to the performance of Paul Pogba during France’s 1-0 win over Germany at Euro 2020.

The World Cup champions started their group stage campaign with a slender win over the Germans, but they were the better side over 90 minutes.

Pogba was lively in the opening half for Les Bleus. He delivered a superb cross field ball for Lucas Hernandez, which led to the own goal from Mats Hummels.

He also managed two tackles, three interceptions and won 13 ground and aerial duels. He was adjudged the man of the match by the sponsors.

Some United fans on Twitter reacted to Pogba’s performance, suggesting that a new defensive midfielder could get the back of the Frenchman at the club.

Pogba was far from perfect against Germany with a passing success rate of just 77 percent, but he looked likely with good link-up play with the forwards.

He was a little slow with his distribution on the night. Les Bleus had two goals chalked off in the second half as Kylian Mbappe was caught offside.

Pogba has been a quality signing for United, but there has been criticism from some fans over his lack of consistency over a period of games.

He tends to bring the best out of him for the national side, and part of the credit should go to the presence of N’Golo Kante alongside him.

United are unlikely to prise away the Chelsea star this summer, but may look for another elite defensive midfielder to play alongside Pogba.
