The end of next season looks to be an important one for Chelsea when they have quite a few defenders who will have their contracts expiring at the close of the campaign.
Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta’s deals are all up next June and, you would expect anyway, a decision on each of their futures at the club will have been made well before then.
After a season of finishing in the top four and winning the Champions League, preparations are already beginning for the 2021/22 campaign.
The Premier League released the list of all clubs’ released list, and it saw seven Chelsea players on there, who will all leave this summer.
Released List in full: Jamal Blackman, Izzy Brown, Declan Frith, Danilo Pantic, Willy Caballero, Marco van Ginkel and Jack Wakely.
As per Fabrizio Romano, there are four players who Chelsea are looking set to get off their books in the upcoming transfer window.
Victor Moses – Set to join Spartak Moscow on a permanent deal [agreement reached]
Tiemoue Bakayoko – On loan at Napoli, set to be sold this summer
Emerson Palmieri – Expected to leave Chelsea this summer
Fikayo Tomori – AC Milan to make a decision over €28M buy option this week
By doing this Chelsea will be raising funds to get more quality players and at the same time balance their financial books for their own benefits and to avoid getting a transfer ban in the future. We will surely miss all those players that will leave this summer.
