1. Engage in exercise

Regular exercise may help you control high blood sugar levels, hypertension, and bad cholesterol, which can lead to vision problems. So if you exercise regularly, you can reduce your susceptibility to these eye and vision problems.

2. Give your eyes a rest

 

If you spend much of your time using a computer, you can forget to blink your eyes and your eyes can become tired. To lessen your risk of eyestrain, try removing your eyes from the computer every 20 minutes. You can even look away about 20 feet in front of you for 20 seconds.

3. Consume a healthy diet

Your diet should contain large amount of fruits and vegetables, especially deep yellow and green leafy vegetables. Consuming fish that is made up of high omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon, tuna, can also help reduce your eye loss risk.

4. Don’t smoke excessively

Excess smoking of cigarettes triggers your risk of developing eye diseases related to age, such as macular degeneration and cataracts and can damage your optic nerve.

5. Maintain a healthy weight

An obese person have an increased risk of developing diabetes. Having diabetes puts you at a greater risk of suffering glaucoma.

6. Have enough sleep

An easy way of maintaining good eye is by getting enough sleep. Maintaining a healthy sleeping habit impacts positively to your general well being, but it also helps keep our eyes from straining.
